Dolomites

In their appearance, the Dolomites are every bit as unique and diverse as they are absolutely unparalleled in terms of geology. Enchanting scenery for hikers and bikers and a habitat for many wild animals and rare plants. Together with a few other mountain ranges, they were incorporated in the 2009 list of UNESCO Natural World Heritage Sites. It truly is of "unique monumental beauty".
