Our homeland − Laion
Our farm is located "at the gateway” to the Dolomites, which was recognized a short while ago by UNESCO as a Natural World Heritage Site, and is at the entrance of the Grödnertal valley, close to where the language spoken transitions from German to Ladin dialect. Distance to the city: 400 m with some restaurants and supermarkets and you can also use all public transport in South Tyrol.
On the subject of languages: in Lajen in Ried there is a farm with the name "Vogelweider", which suggests that the most significant German minstrel, Walther von der Vogelweide, came from Lajen.
The Törggelen, a seasonal meal tradition unique to south Tyrol, is enjoyed during autumn and winter in old farmhouse parlors.
We place great importance here at the Kirchwieserhof on culture and tradition.
